Money DOES Buy Happiness

Money does make you happier. Do you agree with this statement? How often have you sacrificed your personal free time to make more money? How often have you chosen to make more money over spending time with family members and friends that you really care about? How often have you chosen to make more money over spending time taking care of your physical health, and your mental and your psychological health? On average, wealthy people are slightly happier than less wealthy people but more money doesn't always guarantee more happiness. How you spend your money and your time is what matters. And also how you think about saving and spending your money also matters. Money can make you happier when you spend it on experiences, rather than things. Money can make you happier when you buy yourself time. For example, instead of spending one hour cooking, if you don't enjoy cooking and actually having food delivered, because that gives you more time to do something that you do love will make you happier.
The research is very strong and supportive. When you spend your money on others. Take $20 and spend it on someone else this week and see how that makes you feel. Giving and generosity is a guaranteed path to more happiness. So think about how you can spend money on others. This is the language of gift giving. When you use your money to live a purposeful, meaningful life, it can bring you happiness. So how do you think about money and happiness right now?
