Flexible Work is Here to Stay
Are you a leader trying to cancel remote work? Is your leader more focused on place and where you are over the progress and the purpose of your work and the organization? Adam Grant, one of the world's leading organizational psychologist, bestselling author, and keynote speaker, posted this week that flexible work is here to stay. And if you don't agree, maybe you're not supposed to be a leader. The leaders of the future know this, understand this, and are making changes to have flexible work be a part of the entire organization.
Every single industry just went through working from home. And this isn't a one size fits all. It's going to depend on the organization, the team, if it's global, if you have a national organization, if it's regional. But if you were trying to force every single person to go back to work, what looked like 2019, you are going to lose your very best people and your productivity and success and innovation is going to decline.
There was a recent survey out of Harvard Business School that showed that most professionals have excelled during the last 12 to 14 months and that 81% of professionals want flexibility or full-time working from home. The leaders that are present and the leaders of the future are paying attention to this. There was a Forbes article that just showed the CEO of SAP announced their flexible work employee pledge, and it is fantastic. It's not a one size fits all, and it values flexibility, well-being, collaboration, trust, and empowerment.
This is what the employees of the future want and are going to demand. And if you want to attract top level talent, flexible work needs to be a part of your culture.
